This is a period to discern the life to which the postulant has been called to respond freely and responsibly. This time is normally of a year’s length and it cannot be prolonged beyond two years.
The novitiate lasts for a period of two years. During this time, the young woman gives particular attention to growing in greater depth in the experience of the virtues of faith, hope and charity, and learns the object of the three vows. This is a time of spiritual and religious formation. The novice enjoys all the privileges and spiritual favors of the Order.
The profession of vows taken for a temporary time. She makes the vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience and is thereby incorporated into the community. These vows are made and renewed annually. During the time of temporary profession the Sister continues her formation begun in the novitiate.
At the end of the period of temporary vows, the Sister may be admitted to her perpetual profession when she freely and spontaneously desires to permanently live her live in the Order consecrated to God and living in poverty, chastity, and obedience following the Constitutions of the Order of Perpetual Adorers. The perpetually professed Sister continues her formation according to the established plan of formation.
